DERBI GP1 - 50, 125, 250 - REVOLUTION OF THE SPECIES

Following the ‘New Derbi’ philosophy, offering young people products of high quality and technological refinement, it was inherently necessary that any new scooter project would have to represent a step forward from anything that currently exists on the market.

A scooter without compromises, capable of breaking the mould and give that little something extra; something different. It wasn’t enough simply to develop what already existed. What was needed was a ‘revolution of the species’.

Gone are the days of a typical layout, with the rear swingarm and engine fixed elastically into the chassis – perfect for comfort but with the boundaries of sporting performance severely limited. Now is the time for a machine with a dynamic balance, stability and security guaranteed by a double-beam chassis in aluminium, fixed central engine and equal weight distribution between the front and rear. In this way, differences between the scooter and a race bike become reduced to a minimum.

With these features, standard to the world of sport and racing, comes the GP1. A Derbi product which has become their most sporting ever. Every detail stands out from the competition, making it a reference point for the segment.

The presence of a radial front brake, upside-down forks of 38 millimetres, ventilated discs and 14 inch wheels with 120/70 tyres on the front and 140/60 on the rear, make you forget we are talking about a scooter. Only the ease of riding, thanks to an automatic gearbox, and storage space for a helmet under the seat, remind us of its scooter genes. The stability, braking, safety and dynamic appeal are more appropriate to a motorcycle than a scooter. The same can be said for feeling and handling, inherited directly from the DRD experience in the MotoGP World Championship.

The GP1 features the latest version of the Piaggio group’s two-stroke engine, recently refined with a new fixed lower exhaust like a Grand Prix motorcycle, with the maximum level of performance and within Euro2 emission regulations.

125 – 250 SPORT-TOURING

There will also be 125cc and 250cc versions. Increasing the cubic capacity means dealing with a sports vehicle, with a clear ambition and vocation for ‘sport-touring’. In order to transform the racing performance of the GP1 into a more balanced ‘sport-touring’ attitude, adapted for adult riders and with space for a passenger, work has focussed securing the comfort of the passenger and producing improved performance whilst not compromising on smooth power delivery.

Although in this case the engine returns to its traditional position, we still have an aluminium chassis and swinging arm, with a single central shock which offers rigidity, stability and handling never before seen in the scooter sector.

Whether it be carrying one or two people, the bigger cylinder versions of the GP1 are ideal for urban commuting or longer journeys, but for riders looking for excitement, scooter performance and a design which won’t go unnoticed.

enjin + sistem auto mcm skuter biase je sebenarnye. cume die letak kat tengah body. mcm moto biase. pastu..klo cm skuter biase lepas gearbox tu pasang tayar kan, die ni pasang rantai utk ke tayar blakang. aku rase cam leceh je dr segi maintenance. nk jage belt, pastu rantai. tp dr segi output power mungkin bleh up kot.sbb leh adjust kat spoket rantai.

ni plak tupe die yg dah dibugel kan. hehehehe..

Kenapa aku tgk gambar yg atas skali berlainan ngn yg 2nd punya gambar sbb yg atas menggunakan rantai and then yg 2nd nya mcm scooter yg biasa guna belting.....mesti ada 2 model betul tk sbb yg atas tu enjin nya betul2 terletak di tengah2 body mcm moto biasa sbb tu dia guna rantai.............. klu yg model rantai ni mmg best handling ngn stable ni klu nk layan lap....enjin mesti power ni klu guna piaggio 2 stroke.... aku rasa ada 2 model ni satu guna rantai ngan satu lg guna belting mcm biasa........

meh sini aku explain kat hang..dua dua tuh moto yang sama.
belting tuh still pakai, chain pun pakai gak.. lay out dier macam nie..

Belting gearset semua kat bawah tulang body engine dier kecik ajerk (50cc)so tak nampak la block tuh...okeh then selalunya belting sambung ngan pulley belakang. then sambung gearset. then sambung ke tayar.

Skang nie ape yang derbi buat, dari gearset. dier sambung ker chain. dari chain sambung ke tayar yang dipegang oleh sistem suspensi moto biasa, bukan lagi belting gearset macam skuter kite.

Hasilnya sistem suspension yang tegap tanpa ader pergerakan (belting, pulley, roller, etc la) pada sistem suspensi. thus menghasilkan suspension yang tegap.. ohw.. yang kiter orang semua nie teruja sangat ialah dengan sistem chain kiter leh main nisbah ratio belakang (baca: sproket) besh woo

harga DERBI GP1 250 kat jepun ---> 628,000yen..lebih kurang dalam RM18k~20k
harga nie belum masuk dgn insurance....
kalau nak import masuk Msia ---> RM40,000 ++
